Choice Neighborhood Revitalization Grant

United Way of Greater Kansas City is one of the three lead organizations for a major $30 million federal grant to rebuild and revitalize the Paseo Gateway neighborhood in Historic Northeast Kansas City. Kansas City’s “Paseo Gateway Transformation Plan” aims to improve the neighborhood through a collaboration with local education, health care, and business organizations. U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro came to Kansas City last fall to announce the grant. United Way’s portion of the grant is dedicated to providing health and human services to Paseo Gateway residents to make sure they have “ready access to supports” like nearby Head Start facilities, charter schools, and health care clinics, during the transition.

2018 Year in Review

It takes an entire community moving in the same direction to make Kansas City the best it can be. Thanks to a continued commitment by generous donors and volunteers, 2018 was another amazing year across our region.
