United Way of Greater Kansas City invests in local programs that address health and human services challenges facing the Kansas City metropolitan community. The Community Impact Agenda will provide you with information about UWGKC funding priorities within the health and human service system. The specific investment areas and eligibility criteria for the next funding cycle (May 2020 through April 2023) are not yet finalized. We expect to release that information in September 2019.
2020 – 2022 Request for Proposals
United Way of Greater Kansas City is not currently accepting applications for funding. Our grant funding is on a three-year cycle with our next process beginning in September of 2019 when we will release a Request for Proposals (RFP) and hold informational workshops. Successful applicants will be eligible to receive funding for the three-year period of May 2020 through April 2023.
If your organization currently receives grant funding from United Way, they will be notified when the RFP is released. If your organization is not currently affiliated with United Way, please complete the form below to receive announcements about the funding application process.

- Emergency Shelter Services
- Rent/Utility/Food pantry Assistance
- Served Meals (community-based meal program serving low-income residents multiple times per week)
To be added to the RFP email distribution list for this funding, contact Vickie Riddle at email@example.com
Links to the RFP, Funding Application Forms and Shared Outcomes Manual from our most recent funding cycle are below. You may want to focus first on the United Way Agency Standards as they establish a minimum expectation for management and governance of applicant agencies. As you review all of the documents, keep in mind that in the 2020 -2022 grant cycle there are likely to be changes to these documents including those categories for which we are accepting new program applications. Therefore, this information should be considered general guidelines and subject to change for the upcoming cycle.
