Volunteer Opportunities

Join us for United Way Ignite (formerly “ECM Training”), where you’ll learn firsthand how you and your organization can help elevate United Way’s mission and further our collective impact in the community.


This one-day retreat will include a morning and afternoon session—with the option to attend either or the full day—filled with breakfast, breakouts, an immersive bus tour, keynote speaker Spencer West, happy hour and more!

Open to: Employee Campaign Managers, Campaign Committees, Executive Champions and marketing or other personnel who assist with running and promoting your organization’s United Way Campaign.

  • 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. Registration and Breakfast
  • 9 - 11:50 a.m. Morning Programming
  • 11:50 - 12:30 p.m. Lunch // Afternoon Attendee Registration
  • 12:30 - 5:00 p.m. Afternoon Programming

Note: Morning session includes breakfast, informational breakouts, keynote presentation and lunch. Afternoon session includes community impact bus tour and happy hour in the Crossroads (transportation provided). Attendance is free.

Social Activist + World Change Warrior // The life of visionary and activist Spencer West has been marked by both obstacles and triumph. After losing both legs from the pelvis down at the age of five, he entered a world that might have easily defeated him. Instead, he tackled challenge after challenge, learning to navigate in a world set against those with disabilities. His many accomplishments and lessons learned along the way, led him to discover the techniques business leaders, professionals, educators and young people can use to redefine possible in their own lives and careers.
