Young Leaders Society
The Young Leaders Society provides a wide range of community involvement and personal development opportunities for our community's emerging leaders. This unique and dynamic group offers its members multiple avenues to become involved in the community, to directly make a difference in people’s lives and to ultimately become leaders in Greater Kansas City.
Membership is for individuals or couples in their 20s, 30s and 40s who are community oriented and contribute an individual or combined annual gift of $1,200 or more to United Way.To provide a broader group of donors with the opportunity to participate, a three-year step-up program has been established. Those currently not giving $1,200 may enter the Young Leaders Society by giving $600 their first year of membership with a commitment to step-up to $1,200 by the third year of their membership.
Young Leaders Society member activities include:
- fulfilling volunteer projects at United Way programs
- a focus on helping young adults gain the skills they need to pursue a financially stable career and future
- a new, multi-faceted mentoring program with the young adults of our Decade of Difference initiative
- networking opportunities with like-minded civic and business leaders
- other fun special events
